Student and Welfare Services
Book Rental Scheme
Our book rental scheme loan textbooks to Junior Cycle students and charges a fee in 1st and 2nd year. The cost of renting the books from the school is much lower than buying the books in a bookshop. It is important that your son looks after the books carefully because they belong to the school. At the end of the school year, your son returns the borrowed textbooks to the school in good condition at the end of junior cycle.
Evening Study
Students can avail of 1.5 hours of supervised study (with the option of an extra hour), after school each day for a small fee. Please contact our school office to book a spot as places are limited.
Pastoral Care
Our Pastoral Care Programme reflects our Catholic ethos, and extends throughout all aspects of school life. Each class is assigned a class tutor who takes a special interest in the welfare and progress of every student. The class tutor operates in close co-operation with the year head, the Deputy Principal and Principal.
Guidance and Counselling
The role of the Guidance and Counselling service is to assist each student in their personal, educational and career choices, to support each student educationally, and to provide a support to students experiencing difficulties in their lives.
The service is operated by a qualified and experienced guidance counsellor, together with a strong pastoral care team who meet regularly to discuss student issues that may arise and organise appropriate action.
To make contact with the Guidance Counsellor, you can email bhoyne@knockbegcollege.ie for more information.
